FALLOUT NEW VEGAS FOV MODS
Please note that some mods can change FOV, especially those involving the camera (e.g., Skyrim Enhanced Camera, Face to Face Conversations, etc.) and should not be used in this testing, as those mods will hinder test results. Unfortunately, this will require playing a lot and seeing if the FOV, in fact, ever changes. This, however, will need to be extensively tested for verification. Therefore, the initial effects of an INI setting might possibly not persist throughout the entire game. It is commonly reported that FOV can change during gameplay via different events during the life of the save. Going through the intro is time-consuming, so it is recommended to use a console command from the main menu to go to a test location to determine the initial effects. The best way to test INI settings is by using a new game, since FOV is tied to the game, but INI settings are tied to the whole. Therefore, to test the different ways we can modify FOV and see what the best methods are, we need a methodology to reliably show the capabilities of our modifications. It is a well-known fact that for many, if not all, of these games, the FOV is tied to the saved game. This thread seeks answers to this problem.
Instead, the FOV can be modified via console commands and/or INI settings. The games I'm talking about here only apply to Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Fallout 4. Change to iPresentInterval=0 if you are rocking a higher Hz/Frames Per Second (FPS).Bethesda does not include an overt setting to change the field of view (FOV) in its games. Make sure that iPresentInterval=1 is present in both games under Fallout_default where the game is stored in your folder.Switch Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering to OFF in Fallout 3 / NV Options.Turn off V-SYNC (Verticle Sync) in Options.Change your resolution properly in Fallout 3 / NV Options (1080P, 1440P, etc.).This issue was driving me crazy (I HATE screen tearing). Thank you again alizubair01 and everyone for your help.

I can now play my favorite games tear free and modded to my hearts content. Once I did that, made sure that V-SYNC was not checked in options and changed the setting for iPresentInterval=0 back to 1 on both games (since my monitor is at max 60 Hz, which is fine for me), it solved my screen tearing issues. My ASUS monitor is capable of going up to 2560 X 1440 at 60 Hz.Īlso, from another source, I had to turn both the Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering settings in the Options menu to OFF. So it turns out it was the resolution in both games that was throwing me off, along with one other issue. That should fix your problems in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but you never know because those games are very unoptimized as it is. What I would do is keep V-Sync off and then force a limit on the fps using something like RivaTuner, which you can get from installing MSI Afterburner: When you did this it turned off V-Sync and now your game is running faster than 60fps, because Bethesda thought it was smart to tie everything to frame rate, now that your game goes over 60fps everything else gets faster in the process. It did stop the screen tearing for NV, 99% of the time, but now my character runs very quickly. This will forcibly disable VSync in the game."
